“We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.” –Attributed to Prof. Robert Wilensky
The Internet is full of opinions, misconceptions, theories, and the like, but does it contain any true usefulness? You may very well say no, as most useful information is buried in a slurry of irrelevance. You can’t blame your favorite search engine for that, it is mostly due to SEO gurus teaching people how to trick the system into giving you content you don’t want. Ever do research on Disney? Be careful where you click, you might have to scrub your brain out after viewing some of that stuff.
The only way you can find relevant materials to your search term is learning to spot bull shit when you see it. This is something that can not be taught, you will acquire this skill over time.
One day, they may invent a better search engine. Until that day comes, we will continue to dig through the garbage to find that one shiny spark of pure information gold.
